'Bilers.
That's what the kids
around here call snowmobilers. Why? Cause there are
so many of them!
The trail behind our
house counted 56,000 sleds last winter. Even if they
went past twice, that's a lot of sleds!
This is the Upper
Peninsula (UP) of Michigan. The place we live
probably doubled its population when the kids and I
moved in. Rousseau doesn't have a post office, we
get our mail from Mass City. If you put the right
name, but wrong address we'll get it anyway. So why
should you know about the UP? What do we have to
interest you?
SNOW
Lots of snow. We
measure snow in feet, not inches.
We don't have a lot
of fancy motels or restaurants, and it's a long way
between stops. It is some of the most rugged country
you will see, with deep ravines and rock bluffs,
mountain tops with a view of Lake Superior all in
one day. So if you're looking to be pampered this
isn't the place, if you are looking to ride, I
invite you to come make tracks in our snow!
This area is called
"God's Country" come see why.
