I am also a union millwright
apprentice, single mom of three kids and one
oversized lap dog. Bilers came about as a means to
supplement my income renting out rooms in our 5
bedroom farmhouse to snowmobilers. My youngest son
Alex, came up with the name. We got a lot of calls
but the kids and I weren't real comfortable with
'strangers' in the house with us. I did have the
chance to help a lot of people with other places to
stay and where to eat and what trail conditions were
like. In fact; I got so many calls about just
information I decided to use the website I had
already started for that purpose.
I am a HUGE advocate of Mom & Pop business. I
decided that if I built a directory of all the locally owned small
business I could help bring tourists to the places they really would
enjoy and help my neighbors keep their doors open. The response has
been tremendous! We had over a million hits in the first couple
months! I have struggled to learn fast enough to upgrade the site to
keep pace with the traffic. We have made great new friends
